This DVD edition of the Soviet spoof/homage to the American adventure serial was quite pleasing, with its excellent video transfer from a very-good to excellent 35mm source print. Some form of speckling, dust or emulsion flaw is present in nearly every frame of the source print, but its broad greyscale range and nearly excellent image detail makes viewing this disc a pleasure. Newly-translated English intertitles have been inserted.

The film is accompanied by an excellent music score for ensemble and theater organ adapted, composed and performed by Robert Israel.
